Fat Lady was born in early 2016, and has been throwing her weight around ever since. Since their debut self titled EP in April, 2017, the band released their first full length recording in June of 2018, Live at Rick’s. Despite the fact the newest album was recorded in studio, Live at Rick’s captures the rawness and musicality of the group, and gives the listener a taste of what Fat Lady can do in performance.

 

The band takes inspiration from classic rhythm and blues tracks with a little extra bite and combines that with a modern twist. As The Inlander published, “There’s a certain bliss to be found when you’re in a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd watching Fat Lady, a group of vetted musicians bringing down the house with intricate musical partnership and blazing solos. The psychedelic and blues-rock ensemble inspires dancing and free-spirited adulation during their sets of originals and covers.”
